Steelbound has introduction courses in Longsword and broadsword. These take place once or twice a year, usually in the autumn or spring. The Introduction Course takes 7 weeks, either on Monday for Broadsword or Friday evenings for Longsword. The introduction courses are at the same times as the regular lessons. The cost of an Introduction Course is 49 euro, or 90 euro for both Longsword and Broadsword. Space is limited and so places are given on a first-pay first-serve basis. The purpose of the Introduction Course is not just to learn basic skills of a weapon if you have never held one. As important is learning if you enjoy the atmosphere of our club, get to know our culture and values and see if our teaching methods suit your style of learning. Even our most experienced teachers have gone through the Introduction Course for this reason, some of them twice! Regardless of your level of experience with H.E.M.A., the Introduction Course is obligatory should you wish to become a member and join the regular lessons.
Members who have completed an Introduction Course may take it again at no extra costs (as part of their monthly fees). This is a great way to strengthen your command of the basic skills or pick up a new weapon discipline. Contact us to get on the waiting list or ask for more information!
